• Christian Unity Week

  Today was the start of Christian Unity Week, where all denominations of Christianity come together and join in prayer and worship. Today we had Andy from the Salvation Army join us for the first of many special assemblies. He talked to us about what Christian Unity Week is all about and what the Salvation Army do. We played a game of charades and sang some wonderful songs which the children really enjoyed.

  

• Merry Christmas, Everyone!

  Today the children, staff and governors enjoyed a lovely Christmas dinner with Turkey and all the trimmings. Everybody was in a festive mood and even got to wear their Christmas jumpers. 

  

• When Carol came to town!

  Recently Carol from CAFOD came to visit the school to do an assembly on 'Brightening Up the Harvest Festival' and how CAFOD helps people all over the world in countries like El Salvador. The pupils always enjoy Carol's visits and I'm sure they are looking forward to the next time.

  

• Race For Life!

  A couple of weeks ago the whole school (including the teachers!) ran the Cancer Research Race for Life. Some of the children ran as many as 18 laps of our running track! That's over 5k! The school raised a massive £183! Congratulations to everyone who took part!

  

• Bowling competition

  Well done to our bowling team who won a gold medal and won their qualifying matches. Good luck in the finals!

  

• R.E. Week - Welcome the stranger!

  In school this week we have looked at the plight of refugees around the World. To celebrate the end of the week we completed a two mile sponsored walk and spent time in our house groups raotating around the classrooms, considering the hardship of refugees.

• World Gifts with CAFOD

  Today, Carol, from CAFOD, visited us to let us know all about gifts we can give to the world through advent.

  

• Remembrance Service

  Today in school we held our annual Remembrance Service. We thought about all those who gave their lives in the wars but also all those whom we have lost, our family and friends. "We will remember them..."

  

• One Million Children Praying the Rosary

  Today, on the 18th October, we joined hundreds of children, all over the world, to pray the Holy Rosary. Class 4 led the service and we created our own set of beads as we prayed.
